Pie Shell
1 ¼ cups flour
¼ tsp. salt
2/3 cup Crisco shortening
6 tsp. cold water or as needed

Pie Filling
2 ½ lbs. apples of your choice, Empire or Cortland preferred
3 tbsp. lemon juice
½ cup sugar
2 tbsp. flour

Crumble Topping
½ cup flour
½ cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. cold butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, salt, and shortening with water a little at a time until you are able to form a ball of pie crust dough. Roll out pie crust and place in 9 inch Pyrex glass pie plate.
Peel and slice apples to fill 5 cups in a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix in sugar and flour with the apples and spoon into uncooked pie shell.
Cut butter into tiny pea size pieces and mix in with the flour, sugar, ginger, and cinnamon until combined well. Spread mixture on top of the apples in the pie shell.
Bake pie in preheated 400º oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown. Cool pie on wire rack.
