3 C. *Self Rising Flour (measured into cup spoon by spoon or sifted)
1 Bottle of Beer
1/4 cup Sugar
Butter- to grease the pan
2 Tbls melted butter
(egg, if you like to brush the top with egg-wash before baking)

Directions:
Grease a bread pan with butter
Mix the flour, bread, & sugar (careful, overmixing makes the bread tough) and pour into the greased bread pan.

I like to pour the melted butter onto of the loaf and then brush with eggwash (egg beaten with a bit of water) before putting it into oven.
Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
That's it all there is to it, Enjoy!

The end result is a beautiful loaf that tastes delicious with a hint of sweetness.
Variations: more or less sugar, pour melted butter into the mix for softer bread or pour onto top, brush with egg wash. Play around with it and make it your specialty!

*If you don't have self rising flour just add 2 tsp baking powder & a pinch of salt. It's important to sift or spoon into measuring cup, otherwise the flour is too compacted and your bread will be VERY DENSE.

This is an easy and tasty bread that is great for cozy dinners at home or sharing with friends at functions. The beer contains the yeast that you need to help the bread rise and it also gives it a wonderful flavor. It is interesting to experiment with different types of beer. It is always tasty and loved by everyone, even those who don't care for beer!
