½ lb. London broil steak (cut in cubes)
1 medium onion (chopped)
5 cloves garlic (chopped)
2 tbsp. shortening
½ tsp. allspice
¼ tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2 cans kidney beans (partly drained)
1 can tomato paste
2 cups water

Riz (rice)
½ cup short, thin noodles
1 tbsp. shortening
2 cups rice
2 cups water
¼ tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
In pot, sauté onion and garlic in shortening. Add cubed steak. Add allspice, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Cook meat until browned on all sides.

Mix together the tomato paste and water. Add to the meat. Add the kidney beans. When the liquid boils, reduce heat to medium and cook for ½ hour. You may need to add more water as the liquid thickens.

Sauté noodles in shortening. Add rice. Add 2 cups water and salt. When mixture boils, reduce heat and cook on low for 10 minutes.

to serve, spoon rice in a bowl. Add bean mixture to the rice

This is one of my favorite dishes. The tomato sauce combined with the garlic and allspice gives this dish such a wonderful flavor
