1 1/3 c sugar
3 egg yolks
¼ c unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ c flour
3 T butter
1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
3 egg whites
6 T sugar
½ t cream of tartar
1-9 inch baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1 1/3 c sugar, flour and cocoa in deep saucepan. Beat egg yolks with milk. Slowly add milk mixture to sugar mixture. Cook on medium heat until thick. Remove mixture from heat and stir in butter until melted. Pour into baked pie crust.

Whip eggs white in glass bowl. Add remaining sugar 1 T at a time until peaks form. Add cream of tartar to help with stiffness. Spread meringue over the chocolate filling.

Bake at 325 degrees until the peaks of meringue are browned.
