1 - 6 oz package semi- sweet chocolate chips
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup butter
4 eggs,separated
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Melt chocolate chips in boiling water and cool. Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolks,one at a time. Stir in melted chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir together flour,baking soda and salt. Fold into batter. Pour into a well greased and floured 10 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
