For the cookies
1 1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp ground ginger
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cloves
for the frosting
1/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups confectioner sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine brown sugar, butter and sugar and beat until fluffy.
2. Add in eggs one at a time,beating well after each.
3. blend in molasses and vanilla
4. combine dry ingredients and mix well.
4. drip batter onto cookie sheets 2 inches apart and bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes or until cookie springs back when lightly touched.
Frosting
1. In a large saucepan bring brown sugar, milk and butter to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Continue to stir for one minute.
2. Remove from heat and cool for 3 minutes
3. Stir in confectioners sugar and vanilla
4. Frost cookies while they are warm!
