1 (1-lb.) loaf French bread
8 oz. cream cheese, cubed
8 eggs
2-1/2 c. whole milk or light cream
6 T. melted butter or margarine
1/4 c. maple syrup


Directions:
Directions:
Cut French bread into cubes and place half in a greased 9 x 13 baking pan. Top with the cream cheese cubes and then the remaining bread cubes.

Mix together the eggs, milk or cream, melted butter or margarine and syrup until well blended.
Pour over the bread/cheese cubes and press down lightly with a spatula to moisten.

Cover and refrigerate 2 to 24 hours. Bake in a 325º
oven for 35 to 40 minutes until center appears to be set and edges are lightly golden. Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting. Serve with maple syrup or topping of your choice.
