2 1/4 sticks butter, softened
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
3 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 c apricot preserves
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x13 baking pan. In medium bowl, beat butter until creamy. Beat in sugars. Mix together flour, baking soda and salt, then stir into butter/sugar mixture until crumbly.

Measure out 1 1/2 cups of crumb mixture and reserve. Press remainder over the bottom of the prepared pan.

In a small bowl, stir together apricot preserves and lemon juice. Spread into pan, leaving a 1/4 inch border all around edges. Sprinkle remaining crumbs evenly on top.

Bake 35-40 minutes, until lightly browned. Place pan on a wire rack and let cool completely before cutting into 36 bars.
