1 small onion, chopped
2 T. butter
3 cans Italian style green beans, drained
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 small can French fried onions
1 8oz. pkg. grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in skillet; add onion and saute' over low heat until tender; add green beans to skillet and add water chestnuts, mix well and remove from heat. In a large greased casserole dish, layer the bean mixture and soup; top with cheddar cheese. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350º; remove from oven and sprinkle fried onions on top; return to oven and bake an additional 5 minutes or until fried onions are golden brown.
