1 c hot water
1 t salt
6 T butter
1/4 sugar
Combine until dissolved. Cool until lukewarm.

1 T yeast
2 T lukewarm water
Combine and let rest 5-10 minutes. Add to the mixture above

Beat 1 egg and add to above.
Add 3 1/2 - 4 c flour one cup at a time. Beat well after each cup. I use a Kitchen Aid with a kneading blade.

Turn onto floured surface and knead. Shape the rolls and let rise while the oven is heating. Bake12-15 minutes . Brush with butter or egg wash.

Cinnamon rolls.

Roll dough into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll and cut in 1 inch rounds. Bake on cookie sheet. 12-15 minutes. Top with confectionery sugar mixed with a small amount of milk.
