This is Eddie Walker's family favorite!!! His Mom gave me this recipe to make for Eddie's birthday. I'll never forget it because she did not tell me about the stick of butter needed for the frosting!!! I made this cake not only for Eddie, but for a family gathering. Needless to say, they politely said how much they enjoyed, my dry, "rock candy" frosting!!
I later got the correct recipe and it's been a hit ever since!! The guys really like this cake!! It's Clint's favorite, Will's, Eddie's and many men in his family love it too! In the 5th grade Clint wrote a paper on how good this cake is!! We sent the paper to Grandma and I remember her telling me about "butternuts!' I've never seen or eaten a butternut, but Grandma had!!! Anyway, I told her the cake is great with the pecans in it. She said she'd have to try it and it sounded good to her!
