2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
5 Tbls. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
Sift above ingredients together in large bowl.
Add:
2 eggs
1 c. oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Filling:
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. milk
2/3 c. crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tblsp. water
1 Tblsp. vanilla
Frosting:
1/2 c. butter
3 Tblsp. milk
2 oz. melted unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted powdered sugar

Beat well: eggs, oil, buttermilk & vanilla. Add 2 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 c. hot water. Beat well. Fill cupcake papers about 3/4 full. Bake 350º for 20 min. When cool fill by using a cake decorator. Press into top of each cake.
Filling directions: Beat ingredients for 5 min. or more. Then add 1/2 c. powdered sugar & beat again.
Frosting: Combine butter, chocolate, cream & vanilla. Blend well. Gradually add powdered sugar, beat 2-3 min. until light & fluffy.
