Personal Notes:
I got this fabulous recipe from John's sister Kathie in the late 70's and have been making it every year for Christmas and special parties. Everyone loves this dip! We triple the recipe and instead of serving the dip in the bread round, we serve the dip in a decorative bowl so that we can tear up more of the bread. When we moved to California in 1999, no one had ever heard of it. I guess it's an upstate New York specialty, like salt potatoes!
