Ingredients: 2 cups sugar, 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup boiling water -Vanilla Buttercream Frosting- Hershey's Kisses

Directions:Heat oven to 350º Grease and flour 2 (9 ") round baking pans or 13x9 baking pan. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat with electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin)Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 minutes rectangular pan. Cool 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire racks to completely before frosting.
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting: 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter softened, 6 cups powdered sugar, divided, 4 to 6 Tbls milk, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract: Beat butter with electric mixer on medium speed in large bowl until creamy. With mixer running, gradually add about 2 cups powdered sugar, beating until blended. Slowly beat in milk and vanilla. Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until smooth. Add additional milk if necessary until frosting is desired consistency. Yield 2 1/2 cups. |
