1 challah bread, sliced 3/4" thick
8 eggs
5 cups half & half or milk
3 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. freshly grated orange zest
1 Tbsp. pure vanilla extrace
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
Confectioners' sugar
pure maple syrup

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. Place bread in 2 layers in 9x13x2 square or oval baking dish, cutting to fit the dish, set aside.
3. In large mixing bowl, whish together eggs, milk or half & half, honey, orange zest, vanilla, & salt. Pour the mixture over bread & press down to soak completely.
4. Place baking dish in a larger roasting pan. Add very hot tap water to coma an inch up the side of the baking dish. Cover roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil, tenting it so the foil doesn't touch the pudding. Make 2 slashes in the foil to allow steam to escape. Bake for 45 minutes, remove foil, bake for another 40-45 minutes, until the pudding "puffs up" and the custard is set. Remove from oven & cool slightly.
5. Sprinkle with confectiners' sugar and serve in squares with maple syrup.
