2 cup dark raisins
1 cup water
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in water 5 minutes. Let cool, drain.
Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs, & vanilla. Set aside.
Sift together dry ingredients. Add this to creamed mixture, alternately with the raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350º oven about 10 minutes.
