Salad:
1 head romaine lettuce, washed and torn
1 red onion, chopped
1 small can mandarin oranges
1 avocado, diced
1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
Carmelized almonds:
2 tbsp. butter
2 to 3 tsp. sugar
1 c. sliced almonds
Dressing:
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1/4 c. oil
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar

Salad:
Toss ingredients together.
Carmelize almonds:
Put butter and sugar in a small skillet. Melt together. Add almonds. Stir until brown. Pour almonds on waxed paper and spread into thin layer to cool.
Dressing:
Stir ingredients together, chill. Toss dressing and almonds into salad just before serving.
