Day 1 & 2
1 gallon of sliced cucumbers
1 cup salt
3/4 gal. boiling water

Day 3 & 4
3 qts boiling water
2 Tbs Alum

Day 5, 6 & 7
1 qt of vinegar
8 Cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 T cloves

Day 1
Mix salt and water and pour over cucumber slices in crock or gal jug.
Let stand for 2 days

Day 3
Drain and rinse cucumbers. Mix boiling water and alum and pour over cucumbers. Let stand for 3 days.

Day 5
Wash cucumbers. Mix together vinegar, sugar, 2 sticks of cinnamon and 1 Tbs of cloves. Heat and pour over cucumbers

Day 6 & 7
Drain vinegar mixture and Reheat for days 6 & 7

You are then ready to can. Wash jars and lids reheat liquid. Pack jars tightly & pour heated liquid over cucumbers. Seal.
