Fruit Mixture:
1 quart peaches
1/3 c. juice of lemon
2 T. flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. apricot jam
2 T. butter
Can add nutmeg and/or cinnamon to this if desired.
Topping:
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 T. sugar
5 T. butter
1 egg
1/2 c. soured milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º.
Mix together the fruit mixture and put into baking dish.
Sift together in a bowl flour, sugar and baking powder.
Cut in butter. Beat egg with soured milk. Stir into flour mixture just until smooth. Do not over mix.
Divide Topping into 8 portions and drop into mounds on fruit.
Bake for 30 min.

Mom made this a lot for us as kids. I believe it was Grandma Totten's recipe. She used the peaches that we canned, but when those where running low she did use store bought peaches too. She served it with cream or ice cream over it. So goooooood.

SOURED MILK...not spoiled milk.
To sour milk is best to use 2% for baking.
Add 1 tsp. plain vinegar or lemon juice. Stir the ingredients.
Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes. The milk should began to curdle slightly. You now have sour milk for your baking needs.
