¾ c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg (beaten)
¼ c. molasses

2 ¼ c. flour
¼ tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together first 4 ingredients thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Chill dough for at least 1 hour. Roll into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 8 minutes. Let stand on sheet for a few minutes before removing.

Not sure on the servings because I eat soooo many before they are all done! These are my absolute favorite cookies!
