4 c. all purpose flour
1 3/4 c. lard or 1 3/4 c. butter Crisco
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 c. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Using 2 knives or a pastry blender, blend together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and shortening until the size of small peas. Add vinegar, egg and water. Mix until incorporated. Divide dough into 5 equal portions. Wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before rolling out pie crust. May be frozen up to 3 months when placed in freezer storage bag.
Makes 5 single pie crusts.

I never use lard anymore but prefer the butter Crisco for a nice golden pie crust. It is very forgiving during the roll out.
