1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup boiling water
2 cups sliced canned or fresh peaches
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Place peaches in 8x8 pan. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Spoon over peaches. Sift together 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg. Sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over the top. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Serve with whipped topping or ice cream.
