1/2 c. butter, softened
2/3 c.molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Combine butter and molasses in a lg bowl and beat until fluffy. Add egg, beating it into mixture thoroughly.
Combine flour, baking soda, & spices. Add to liquid ingredients, beating just enough to mix dough thoroughly. Chill dough in refrig. for several hrs. Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Bake 5 min. or until cookies are brown on bottom and firm to touch.
