2 eggs
1 c shortening
1 t soda
1/3 c milk
1 c white sugar
3 c oatmeal (grind or process 2 c)
2 c flour
1 t cinnamon and salt
Filling:
1/4 lb. figs
1/2 lb raisins
1 c sugar
1 t flour
1 t vanilla
1 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 8 ingredients. Set aside.
For the filling, grind or process figs and raisins. In saucepan put figs and raisins, sugar 1 t flour, 1 t vanilla, salt and a little water.(2-3 T) cook 10 minutes.
Flour the board and roll out dough very thin. Cut with 3 inch cookie cutter. Put small teaspoon of filling in center of cookie and cover with another cookie. Press edges together.
Cook at 350 until lightly brown.
Try not to roll the dough twice.
