8 T butter (melted)
14 slices (13 oz) white bread (remove crust)
½ C currents
½ C dried raisins
½ tsp cinnamon
6 large eggs
3 C milk
1 C whipping cream
½ C sugar
Pinch nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Butter 13x9x2 glass baking dish. Remove crusts and cube bread. Place half the bread in baking dish. Drizzle half the melted butter over the top. Toss currents, raisins and cinnamon in small bowl. Sprinkle half the fruit over the bread cubes. Add second layer of bread, butter and fruit. In medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar and nutmeg. Pour over bread mixture. Let stand 30 minutes, occasionally pressing down to submerge bread. Bake pudding until custard is set and top is golden brown, about 40 minutes. Serve hot or warm, cut into squares.
