3 cup flour
3 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
6 tablespoon chilled butter (cut into pieces)
1/3 cup dried currents
1 egg (beaten)
¾ cup and 3 tablespoon buttermilk
1 tablespoon milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 425º. Lightly flour large baking sheet. Mix flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add butter and run until mixture resembles fine meal. Mix in currents. Add egg and buttermilk to form soft dough. Turn dough onto floured surface. Pat into ¾ inch thick round. Cut with 2½ inch round cutter. Gather scraps and form into ¾ inch circle and cut additional rounds. Transfer scones to prepared baking pan. Brush tops with milk. Bake about 18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm with butter or heavy cream and jam. Can also be made with cheese and herbs.
