2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
5 T. Evaporated milk
11/2 c. Dates finely chopped
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening or butter
2 eggs beaten

Directions:

Preheat 350*

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together. Cream butter, or Crisco, and sugar. Add eggs, then milk, and dry mixture. Beat thoroughly. Add dates. Drop by spoonfuls on greased sheet. Add date piece on top if desired. Bake 8-10 min. Or until light brown.
