1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp almond extract
2 1/3 cup flour
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400. In a lathe bowl, combine powdered sugar and butter, blend well. Stir in remaining ingredients, blend well. Color dough as desired, and use in a cookie press or make red and white ropes and twist together to make candy canes. Bake for about 6 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.

This is the dough we used in the cookie dough-press, as well as the dough we used for the candy cane cookies. Just color the dough the way you like it, and it is easy to mold however you like.
