16 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate pieces; 2 C. Butter; 1 C. Sugar; 1 C. Half & Half; 1 T. Vanilla extract; 1/2 t. salt; 8 Large Eggs.

For Chocolate Glaze:
6 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate pieces; 2 T. butter; 3 T. Milk; 2 T. White Corn Syrup; Whipping Cream or Reddi-Wip

Grease 10" x 13" springform pan. In 3 quart saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate, butter, sugar,half & half, vanilla and salt until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly.
In a large bowl, beat eggs slightly. Slowly beat chocolate mixture into eggs; pour into springform pan. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from the edge comes out clean. In the pan, cool cake completely on wire rack. When cake is cool remove side of pan; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 6 hours.
Prepare Glaze by heating chocolate pieces and butter in saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Remove pan from heat; beat in milk and corn syrup. spread warm glaze over top and down sides of cake. Pipe whipped cream or Reddi-Wip around edge of cake just before serving.

This is incredibly decadent - almost like eating chocolate truffles. We only have this on very special occasions. Invariably, I'm asked for the recipe when I serve it. Natalie used to feel like it was immoral to serve this to people (maybe she still does!)
