1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup dates or raisins
1/2 teaspoon soda

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons chocolate or cocoa
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour the boiling water over the nuts, raisins, and soda and set aside.

Mix the remaining ingredients together, then add raisin and water mixture and mix well. Pour into 2 layer cake pans.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

Cool and frost as desired
