2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup Crisco
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups unsweetened applesauce
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. mixed spices
1 cup walnuts
1 cup raisins

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Blend sugar, shortening, eggs, salt, and spices. Mix soda and applesauce.
Add to first mixture. Add flour, walnuts and raisins. Bake 1 hour.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
