Directions:We often say one’s life won’t be credited by what they leave behind, but I’m not so sure that is 100% true! Casey’s grandmother is about to pass away. She is on the last end of her journey here on earth. I know she will be going home to the Lord and the material things she leaves behind will turn to rubble. However, she is leaving behind a beautiful legacy that can be credited to her as a life well lived! I wish I had known this lovely lady more. I only have a few meetings with her in the last years of her life. Though I can’t personally say I knew her well, I do know those she leaves behind and the remarkable family they are and the memories they share! It is an amazing legacy of love, life, loyalty, and laughter! Her legacy is testimony to that well lived life! It shines the truths she held dear! Her life legacy is a city on a hill ringing forth fight the good fight and run the good race! How do I know? I know because even as her light on this earth fades, she leaves behind a herd of Godly men who have dearly loved the Lord and their families! Legacies like this do not happen by accident. People do not arise to call someone blessed by chance. Day in and day out, in the little things, she poured herself out for the Lord, her man, and her family! I’m sure she woke up some mornings and thought, “again today…?”, but she never gave up and because of her sacrifice, she leaves a testimony of faith and love for generations to come! Though the earthly possessions will pass, the legacy she leaves will ring for my children’s children! Thank you Mrs. Pauline Baxter for reminding me that this life is worth living well! I want to leave this world peacefully and meet my Redeemer and point my children on the path of redemption, love, and loyalty just like you! |
