Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 round steak about 1/2" thick
S/P
flour
onion
1 bay leaf
Kitchen bouquet gravy darkener
2T. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Pound some flour into steak. Heat oil in iron skillet til it is sizzling. Brown steak on both sides quickly and turn down heat to simmer. Put some onion over meat and a bay leaf. Fill skillet with hot water so the steak is almost covered. Simmer for several hours making sure you still have enough water to make gravy. Remove steak and bay leaf. Put some water in a small bowl say 1/2c. and add 2T. flour. Put lid on bowl and shake the flour until it's mixed in with the water..no lumps. Add this back into the remaining water in skillet and stir thoroughly until it begins to thicken. Add a little bit of gravy darkener...say 1/4t. or until it darkens the gravy to brown. Cook a little while longer so the flour is thoroughly cooked. Make some good old mash taters and green beans and there you have it.
