1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
4 tsp. water
4 tsp. lemon juice
3 cups sliced apples
3 eggs
1 cup butter, melted
4 oz. cream cheese, cubed and softened
1 cup all-purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a small heavy skillet, combined 3/4 cup sugar and water. Cook without stirring, until amber, about 25 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and quickly pour into 10-in. springform pan, coating bottom. Arrange apple slices on caramel in circular overlapping pattern.
In a bowl, beat eggs and remaining sugar until blended. Beat in butter, then cream cheese until smooth. Stir in flour. Spread over apples.
Bake at 350º for 35min or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen; remove sides of pan. Invert onto a serving plate.

Optional topping:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tub (8 oz) Honey Nut Flavor Cream Cheese Spread
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
Beat cream until soft peaks form. Separately beta cream cheese spread and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped cream and serve with warm cake!
