1 c. soft butter or margarine
Confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 tsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. unsifted flour
1 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and 1/4 c. confectioners' sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Shape into rolls about 1/2 inche in diameter and cut into 1-inch pieces. Put on cooke sheets and pull ends down slightly to form crescent shapes. Bake in 375º oven for about 15 minutes. While warm, roll in confectioners' sugar and again when cool. Makes about 6 dozen.

These are my absolute favorite cookies that my Mom (Mary Welch) made at Christmas time. They are slightly crunchy inside and sweet on the outside.
