CRUST AND FILLING:
36 Oreos, crushed
4 T. butter, melted
1/2 gal. peppermint ice cream (or other flavor)

FUDGE SAUCE:
2 T. butter
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
6 oz. evaporated milk
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:
Cool Whip
Peppermint candies, candy canes

Directions:
To Make Crust: Crush 36 Oreos finely and mix with 4T. melted margarine. Press into 13x9 glass dish.

To Make Sauce: In medium saucepan, melt butter, and 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate. Add evaporated milk and sugar. While stirring, bring to boil for 30 seconds, then remove from hear and add 1 tsp. vanilla. Set aside to cool.

To Assemble: Soften the ice cream, spread half on the crust and freeze. Add half the fudge sauce and freeze. Repeat layers, freezing each time to get "clean" layers. Top with Cool Whip and crushed candy. May also top with crushed Oreos, if using a different ice cream flavor.
