3 boxes Duncan Hines cake mix (butter)

Directions:
Day #1 Pour 1 pint of starter in gallon jug or nonmetallic bowl. Add one lg can of sliced peaches (1 lb) and the juice. Cut each slice into fourths. Add 2 1/2 c sugar and stir every day for ten days. Cover jar with saucer and leave setting out at room temperature.
Day #10 Add 1 chunks pineapple (lg) with juice. Cut each piece in half and add 2 1/2 c of sugar. Stir each day for 10 days. Your cake has changed and will foam when stirred.
Day # 20 Add two small jars marcheno cherries. Slice each cherry in half. DO NOT ADD JUICE OF CHERRIES.
Add one lg can of fruit cocktail with juice. Add 2 1/2 c sugar, and stir each day for the final 10 days. The cherries will give the juice a pinkish color.
Day # 31 Drain the fruit and keep the juice as starter for other cakes.
Add drained fruit and the above items mix gently by hand with wooden spoon. Do not use mixer.
Preheat oven to 300º, grease three tube pans ( you will need three pans that will fit into your oven at one time)
Bake for one hour and fifty-five min.
Pour the juice you drained from the fruit into pint jars, this is your new starter. Give to friends and keep one for yourself.
