1 loaf frozen bread - thawed and cut in half
2 pods garlic
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
1 pinch each of salt, pepper and sugar
Sweet basil, according to taste
1 (3 oz) pkg. sliced pepperoni - chopped
Italian Romano grated cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Warm chopped garlic (do not brown) in a little oil in a skillet. Add tomato paste and a pinch of salt, pepper and sugar. Add basil and simmer for 5 minutes. Roll dough into rectangles. On each half spread on tomato mixture, sprinkle on pepperoni, then cheese. Roll the narrow end (like a jelly roll). Bake at 350º on greased cookie sheet for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

These baked loaves can also be refrigerated. Then for a quick snack, cut off 1/4 or 1/2 inch pieces and heat in microwave.
