12 Cups of water
4 1/2 cups vinegar
1 1/3 cups salt

Stir above ingredients together until clear. (do not cook brine) This will make about 9 quarts. In each quart jar you will need to pack the cucumbers to about 1" from the top of the jar. On top of the cucumbers, place 1 or 2 dried, hot red pepper, 1 clove garlic and 1 stem of fresh dill. Be sure to leave 1/4 " space at the top. Seal jars tightly with lids and rings. Let the jars stand outside in the sun for the next 8-9 days before moving inside to store.
