1 2/3 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. nuts
2/3 c. raisins
1 c. applesauce
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Sift all dry ingredients together three or four times.
Add shortening and water and blend together at low speed until all is well blended.
Add eggs, one at a time and beat good.
Add raisins and nuts.
Put in 8x8 square pan which has been greased and floured.
Bake 55 minutes at 350º F.
Pecan halves can be put on top before baking if you don't intend to ice it.
