10 c. bread cubes, day old
2 c. finely chopped onion
2 c. finely chopped celery
1/4 lb. butter or margarine
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. sage
1 large diced apple
1 large diced potato

1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion and celery in butter in a skillet until tender.
Add mixture to bread cubes in a large pan.
Combine salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and sage.
Sprinkle over cubes.
Add milk and eggs
May want to add more milk and eggs and make sloppy.
Roast in turkey or put in a greased pan and bake about about 375º for one hour.

Only dressing I ever make. Momma said the potato was to remember the poor, the apple to remember the bountiful. I always loved her directive "to make it sloppy."
