2 T. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. pared, sliced tart apples
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. brown sugar (packed)
3 T. softened butter or margarine

Directions:

Mix granulated sugar with 1/4 tsp. cinnamon.
Sprinkle over apples and mix lightly.
Spread apples in a greased 8x8x2 inch baking pan.
Sprinkle with water.
Blend flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
Mix in butter or margarine to make crumbly mixture.
Spread over apples.
Bake uncovered at 350º F for 40 minutes or until lightly browned and apples are tender.
