Ingredients: 1/4 C butter at room temperature 1/4 C chunky peanut butter 1 C light brown sugar 1/2 C sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 C flour 1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate Swirl: 1 1/2 oz. (1 1/2 square) semisweet chocolate 2 tsp butter, melted
Topping: 1/2 C chunky peanut butter 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 T butter, melted 1 1/2 oz. (1 1/2 squares) semisweet chocolate

Directions:Preheat oven to 350º w/ oven rack in center position. Grease and flour 8"x8" pan. Cream butter until soft. Beat in 1/4 C peanut butter until well mixed. beat in sugars, beating well after each. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla. Mix in flour and baking powder and spread in pan.
For chocolate swirl: In a small heavy saucepan over low heat melt together chocolate and butter stirring until smooth. Drizzle over batter and draw through with knife. Bake for 30-35 minutes until top is crusty and center is barely firm. Let cool.
While brownies are still warm, stir together the peanut butter, vanilla and 1 T of the melted butter until spreadable and spread it over brownies. Place the remaining melted butter and chocolate in a small heavy pan over low heat and stir together until melted and smooth. Drizzle over brownies. |
