4 cups blueberries, washed and dried
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 T. corn starch, dissolved in 1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 T. butter
1 T. Cointreau or Triple Sec
1/4 cup slivered almonds, optional
9 inch pastry shell

1 cup whipping cream
2 T. sugar
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 to 4 T. toasted, slivered almonds, optional

Directions:
Cook 1 cup of the blueberries with sugar and water for 10 minutes. Puree this. Add cornstarch and water. cook until thickened. Blend in butter and cointreau or triple sec and cool. Add almonds. Fold in rest of the blueberries. Pour into pie shell.
For the topping, whip the cream, add 2 T. sugar and almond extract and sprinkle on the toasted slivered almonds.

This is a never fail recipe, and is the most delicious blueberry pie I have ever had.
