1/2 lb.cups (1 1/2 cups)blanched almonds
1/2 pound (2 cups)walnuts and pecans
1 cup sugar
dash salt
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1/2 cup butter

Directions:

Toast nuts in slow oven until light brown. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add sugar and salt into egg whites. Fold nuts into meringue. Melt butter in a 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 x 1 in. jelly roll pan. Spread nut mixture over butter. Bake in a slow oven about 30 min, stirring every 10 minutes. When no butter remains in pan, remove. Cool. Makes about 4 cups
