2 packages frozen strawberries
2 packages strawberry danish
4 c. fresh orange juice
4 packages lady fingers
3 packages vanilla pudding, cooked as directed and cooled in a pan of cold water to keep film from forming
1 pint heavy cream, whipped
Whole fresh strawberries

Directions:

Thaw frozen strawberries, drain off syrup and put berries and syrup aside.

Combine danish with orange juice and syrup from strawberries. Bring to a boil and cook one minute. Add berries and set aside to cool.

Line the bottom of a large clear glass or plastic bowl with lady fingers sprinkled with sherry. Spread with a layer of pudding, then a thin layer of the strawberry mixture. There should not be too much red at the bottom. Put a layer of pudding on this, then lady fingers and sherry and repeat layers, ending with strawberry mixture. Cover the top with the whipped cream and garnish with whole strawberries. Serves 16.
