About 14 potatoes
Boil sweet potatoes with skins on – don’t completely cook (˝ cooked)
Put in cold water. Peal off skins ( should easily peal off with your hands) . Slice long wise (2-3 slices) – put aside
Boil candy mixture on top of stove: Brown sugar 1 cup+ light corn syrup 1 cup +2 sticks of Butter or margarine (A stick of butter = 8 tablespoons = approx. 1/2 CUP).

Boil until just starts to thicken (test by putting drop in dish of cold water)- Do not overcook – should not be candy consistency – should be soft ball consistency when placed in water.
Butter a baking dish and then put some of candy mixture on bottom
Then put in potatoes (2 layers) and pour candy mixture over them.
Bake at 375 degrees. Put baking pan on bottom of oven. If too much liquid forms drain slightly . Bake until top of potatoes a little brown (won’t take too long because potatoes are already cooked)—cool and serve.
