"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

3 pounds beef rump or chuck roast
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 packet dry onion soup mix
2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Pour the soy sauce and dry onion soup mix into the slow cooker. Mix well. Place roast in cooker. Add water until the top 1/2 inch of the roast is not covered. Add pepper over the top.

Cover and cook on low for 22 hours or high for 7-10 hours.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The fat on the roast makes the roast more tender, but I sometimes cut the end fat off before cooking and my roasts are still tender, just not as much as if the fat were left on.
