1 can beef consumme' (with the soups in the grocery store)
1 small bottle (8 oz.) soy sauce
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/2 t. garlic powder
1 T. liquid smoke
brisket, trimmed of most fat (about 4 lbs. is what my mom usually does for our family)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix above ingredients. Marinate trimmed brisket in mixture overnight, turning once if possible.
Preheat oven to 300º.
Transfer brisket with marinade to baking pan, place brisket fatty side up. Cover with foil.
Cook a 4lb brisket about 5 hours basting every hour.
The marinade/broth after meat has been cooked can be served on the side.
