1 lb. ground beef
2 t. salt
2 t. sugar
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. black pepper
1 (8 oz.) pkg egg noodles, cooked al dente
1 c. sour cream
1 (3 oz.) pkg cream cheese, softened
6 green onions, chopped
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Directions:

Brown beef in skillet. Drain. Return to skillet and add the tomatoes, tomato sauce and all the seasonings. Cook over low heat for 15 min, covered.
Combine cooked and drained noodles with sour cream, cream cheese and green onions. In a greased 9x13 baking dish, arrange in layers, beginning with 1/2 noodle mixture followed with 1/2 of meat mixture. Repeat layers. Top with grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.

*I sometimes add green chiles and/or corn to the beef mixture.
